Recorder

One button. The idea in the car, the meeting you will not remember, the tune you hum once and lose.

What it does

Keeps recording with the screen off or another app open
Saves plain .m4a files into a folder you choose — files you can copy off yourself
Play back, rename, trim, share, keep or bin, right in the list
Six themes and six launcher icons, from Settings

Microphone only, no internet permission. A recording is a file in your folder. Nothing is transcribed on a server, because the app cannot reach one.

What it can reach

This is the whole list. Android prints the same thing under Settings › Apps › Permissions once the app is on your phone, and it was not written by us — check one against the other.

Microphone	While you are recording
No internet permission	A recording cannot leave the phone on its own
Foreground service	Keeps recording with the screen off

Android 8.0 and up. Bought once, yours to keep: no account to make, no subscription, and no upgrade screen inside the app — the licence you buy unlocks it and every version after it.

Against the apps it replaces

Samsung's and Google's recorders transcribe by sending the audio away; Easy Voice Recorder's free build carries ads. This is a button and a folder
Plain .m4a in a folder you chose, not a hidden store you need the app to get at

Compared with Samsung Voice Recorder, Easy Voice Recorder, Fossify Voice Recorder.
