Remote alerts, off by default: an alarm can be sent to this phone from your own NextPush distributor; nothing opens a connection until you turn it on

Off means off. An alarm you set on this phone never needs the network. The internet permission exists only for the remote-alert carrier you can switch on, and until you do the app never opens a connection.

Internet	Only for remote alerts, which ship switched off. They ride UnifiedPush — install NextPush or ntfy, or point it at your own distributor. The download here carries no Firebase at all.
